The moving iron core arc welding transformer is a widely used AC arc welding transformer. The BX1-330 type is taken as an example to introduce its structure and working principle.
The maintenance method of the arc welding transformer is as follows:
1. Before using a new welder or a welder that has not been used for a long time, check the welder for damage and check it according to the product description and relevant technical requirements (JB807-80).
2. The insulation resistance value of the welder once and twice should be above 0.5MΩ and 0.2MΩ respectively. If it is lower than this value, it should be dried and the damage needs to be repaired.
3. The welding cable connected from the welding machine to the weldment shall be rubber insulated multi-strand flexible cable.
4. When the welder is more than 10M away from weldment, the cross section of the two welding cables must be properly thickened so that the voltage drop of the welding cable when passing the welding current does not exceed 4V, otherwise the stability of arc ignition and arc combustion will be affected.
5. It is not allowed to use angle steel and iron plate to join the long welding cable. Otherwise, the arc burning will be unstable due to poor contact or excessive voltage drop, which will affect the welding quality.
6. The joint between the welder and the cable must be tightened. Otherwise, the bad contact will not only cause power consumption, but also cause the welder to overheat and even burn the terminal block. Cable connectors are currently available for connection.
7. In use, you should always pay attention to the sound of the welding machine and whether the temperature rise is normal. If abnormality is found, it should be repaired in time.
8. Always clean the inside of the welder without any accumulation of dust or iron filings.
