STMicroelectronics' automotive quality serial EEPROMs are available in a 2mm x 3mm WFDFPN8 micro package that offers the industry's largest optional memory capacity. These memories provide maximum design flexibility when engineers design highly integrated body controllers, gateways, and radar and camera modules for the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).




Using discrete serial EEPROM data parameter storage helps simplify design while providing maximum upgrade flexibility. Limited memory packaging and capacity selection will limit the effectiveness of the solution and will not perform as expected in space-constrained applications. To address this challenge, STMicroelectronics introduced 2KB-512KB of memory in the new automotive quality WFDFPN8 package. In addition, the new product also supports I2C and SPI serial interfaces.




The WFDFPN8 package is well received by the consumer electronics market, and STMicroelectronics has developed a high-strength version of the WFDFPN8 that can operate in automotive environments. The new product has passed the AEC-Q100 grade 0 reliability standard test and has a maximum operating temperature of 125 °C. Other advantages include a write time of only 4ms, fast parameter storage speed, up to 20MHz clock frequency for fast data exchange, built-in traceability and security features, including software-specific storage pages and protection sensitivity The write-lockable of the data protects the page.
